                           El porqué del Regeneracionismo educativo español. La contribución de María Carbonell Sánchez



              traerán a un primer plano el problema educativo como artífice prioritario en la solución
              de  los  problemas  del  país.    Ella  como  tantas  otras  figuras  relevantes  del  momento

              pretendían convertir la educación en factor de cambio y transformación social, hasta tal

              punto  que,  como  llegará  a  expresar  Cossío,  «el  ambiente  intelectual  se  encontró
              saturado de pedagogía».

                     Abstract


                     This  work,  based  on  three  research  frameworks  -history,  gender  studies  and
              education-  is  dedicated  to  Regenerationism  and,  in  particular,  to  an  illustrious

              pedagogue, María Carbonell Sánchez, an educated woman where there were; intelligent
              and, at the same time, with an unusual force, focused on the education of woman and in

              her struggle  to  assert  her role as  educator and trainer in different  contexts  of  society,
              making her deserving of a legal status comparable to that which then the man had, in

              favour of her own formation and access to the degree of culture in other higher strata of it

              and closely linked to education and teaching. We can place María Carbonell within the
              regenerationism  movement  because,  like  the  enlightened  thought  at  its  time  and  the

              ideas of the Gloriosa later, they will bring to the foreground the educational problem as a
              priority  architect  in  solving  the  country's  problems.  She,  like  so  many  other  relevant

              figures  of  the  moment,  tried  to  turn  education  into  a  factor  of  change  and  social

              transformation,  to  such  an  extent  that,  as  Cossío  will  express,  «the  intellectual
              environment was saturated with pedagogy».
